About this Event

Spartan Spotlight is hosted by the Mid-Michigan Spartans featuring compelling stories of Spartans in our community. Our March event will feature Spartans engaged in combatting homelessness in Mid-Michigan and in ensuring better health outcomes for those experiencing homelessness.
The Mid-Michigan Spartans will moderate a conversation featuring Dr. Graham Atkin, Director of Spartan Street Medicine; Brian Peters, CEO of Michigan Health & Hospital Association; Eric Hufnagel, CEO of the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessnes. Eric Hufnagel will share important statistics and contributing factors regarding homelessness in Mid-Michigan. Brian Peters will make the case on the importance of a community commitment to healthcare for those experiencing housing and food insecurity. Dr. Graham Atkin will provide an overview of Spartan Street Medicine, a College of Osteopathic Medicine initiative that serves vulnerable community members, while doubling as an important training tool for our next generation of doctors.
