Microplastic pollution is one of the biggest threats to aquatic wildlife and the human food chain.Join us for the opportunity to become a citizen scientist for a day with Australian Microplastic Assessment Project | AUSMAP . During this Community Day participants can become citizen scientists for a day! You will have the chance learn how to collect, identify and sort a microplastic sample and discover different sources and ways in which you can help reduce environmental impact of microplastics.
AUSMAP is an ambitious coalition of school students, environment groups, universities and educators gathering data about microplastics in our waterways. Using the data collected by the network of citizen scientists and researchers, AUSMAP is creating vivid maps of microplastic pollution hotspots around Australia and you can now be a part of this in Port Macquarie!
