Saturday, April 18, 10am-2pmLimited to 10 spots!
If you’ve ever wondered why one vocal sounds expensive and another sounds flat, this is where you start.
This workshop is perfect for artists recording at home, producers refining their sound, and engineers who want stronger fundamentals. You will compare dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones in real time, test polar patterns, and experiment with placement on vocals, acoustic guitar, amps, and drums.
You will learn:
How different microphones shape tone
How proximity effect and off axis positioning affect sound
How to choose the right mic for the genre and source
How to troubleshoot common recording problems
You will leave knowing how to confidently select and place microphones instead of guessing and hoping.
Workshops are held at Echo Mountain Recording in downtown Asheville from 10am-2pm. Limited seats available. Snacks and beverages provided at each workshop. On-site parking available and nearby street and garage parking available.
