About this Event
At the turn of the 16th century, Republican Florence witnessed one of the most extraordinary encounters – Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael. This exhibition explores the brief but decisive crossing of paths of these three Renaissance Titans. We will see some of the finest examples of Italian Renaissance drawing, including Leonardo’s Burlington House Cartoon, and the studies by Michelangelo and Leonardo for their murals in the Palazzo Vecchio. Explore the rivalry between Michelangelo and Leonardo, and their influence on the young Raphael.
The lecture by Dr Richard Stemp will prepare you for the exhibition so that you can make the most of your time in the gallery and gain the greatest insight into the works. Please join us for lunch afterwards at José Pizarro Restaurant at the RA.
