Bonner David Galleries Scottsdale presents Stuck in Italy, a solo exhibition by renowned figurative painter Michael Carson, on view February 12–28, 2026, in Old Town Scottsdale. Spanning over twenty years of Carson’s career, the exhibition reflects his continued commitment to experimentation, intuition, and the joy of painting.Inspired by recent European travels, Stuck in Italy draws less from literal place than from atmosphere, ancient plaster walls, shifting light, and architectural elegance translated into textured surfaces and luminous color. Working intuitively across multiple canvases, Carson embraces improvisation, visible revision, and painterly immediacy. The exhibition features approximately fifteen new figurative works depicting models and musicians set against abstracted, architectural environments, offering a fresh and energized continuation of Carson’s evolving practice.
