This new series is dedicated to the promotion of music by Maltese composers. In this recital, pianist Francis Camilleri performs four works by the late Joseph Vella: 6 Preludes, Sonatina, Scherzo and Rapsodja Maltija. The programme also includes Hindemith’s Praeludium and Fuga prima in C from Ludus Tonalis and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, widely known as the Moonlight Sonata. In addition to the public recital, a curated interview with the pianist explores several aspects of Vella’s piano writing.
