About this Event
Fully Masked Event
Join us at the BAAITS office in San Francisco for an intimate book signing and teach-in centered on Indigenous cosmology, living tradition, and cultural continuity. This gathering will feature the sharing of The Fifth Sun and The Birth of Death, alongside life-size reproductions of original hand-painted codices that formed the foundation of these works.
The afternoon will include selected readings, visual storytelling, and a short teach-in on the regalia, stories, and symbolism of Xochitlquetzal, the Teotl of Love exploring their role within the Mexica cosmology and sacred narrative traditions. This event is rooted in Indigenous knowledge and honors queer presence, affirming living tradition as something embodied, practiced, and carried forward in community.
This final gathering of the Two-Spirit Powwow Week of Events offers space for reflection and learning, bringing the week to a close through story and ancestral memory.
