Please join me in welcoming to San Diego the Mexican Tango Champion Alejandra Soria (Bajío Tango Championship 2024, with Marcos Zapata) who, with our own, Jorge Cárdenas, will teach a musicality seminar before the first Monday of the month edition of Milonga Recuerdo, where Jorge will also gift us with his talent as a DJ! As always, we will have special treats, cheese and wine, a great dance floor, and good friends!Alejandra and Jorge's pre-milonga seminar will cover the topic of "Musicality, Connection, and Improvisation," starting at 7:30 pm and until 9:00 pm. Our floor opens for the milonga at 9:00 pm, and dancing continues until midnight. Alejandra and Jorge will work on rhythm and timing, phrasing, melodic interpretation, dynamic range, and emotional expression in the seminar.
Alejandra Soria, a native of Chihuahua, Mexico, studied with masters Gastón Olguin, Mario Morales y Sabrina y Ruben Veliz, among others. She has held artistic residences in Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Ciudad de México, and Buenos Aires, where she competed in the World Championship of Tango 2024. She has extensive experience as a tango teacher, promoter, and performer.

Milonga: $20 ($15 for our friends south of the border)
Class and Milonga: $40 ($30 for our friends south of the border)
Milonga Recuerdo is traditionally held on the first and third Mondays of the month, honoring and remembering the germinal song by Osvaldo Pugliese, with Julio de Caro's arrangements, that opened up a line of exploration of tango.
