The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra (MJO) is one of Denver's longest standing big bands featuring a classic instrumentation of trumpets, trombones, saxophones and rhythm as well as Musical Director. Formed in Jan 2002, MJO began a successful 14-yr run with their MJO Presents series at Dazzle which featured a different high school jazz ensemble in concert. Currently the band plays local events, and very excited to return once again to the "new" Dazzle.
They play all styles of big band jazz including classic swing (Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman), modern swing (Basie, Kenton), Latin, rock, and pop. One of the unique features of the band is it's excellent repertoire of recognizable tunes played in the big band style.
You will no doubt want to sing along, and maybe even dance along to their engaging music, which features many of Denver's finest musicians and soloists.
