Celebrate National Poetry Day with a hands-on letterpress workshop using one of our traditional presses and our metal type collection.
Bring along a few favourite lines of poetry or lyrics and join letterpress artist and printer David Armes for a hands-on introduction to printing with metal type. Over the course of the workshop, you will learn the basics of setting type and working on a traditional press, working to create a set of beautifully crafted poetry inspired bookmarks to take home. A relaxed and creative session, perfect for anyone with a love of words and an interest in print. No previous experience needed.
One of two workshops this weekend marking National Poetry Day (2nd October).
nb. Our letterpress sessions take place at our Huddersfield site located on the Piazza in the town centre.
Experience level
No previous experience is needed for this course. Beginners are welcome, along with those who need a refresher or are looking to push their printmaking practice further.
