Join us in Merthyr Tydfil town centre on Saturday, 16th November, for a fantastic day filled with free festive fun for the whole family!Inka the Polar Bear, her cubs and her Sami handler will be joining us all the way from Svalbard, and The Bad Santas will be bringing Father Christmas into the 21st Century in style and getting you all into the Christmas spirit!
Visit Santa and his helpers at their magical Grotto in St Tydfil Shopping Centre and enjoy a whole host of other seasonal attractions throughout the town centre, including real reindeer, fairground rides, face painting, a giant snow globe, Elf School, dance and music performances by community groups, street entertainers including Bouncing Elves, Christmas Belles and Covus Angelicus, and so much more.
Then make your way to Penderyn Square for 5pm, where Capital FMs Josh and Kally will be your hosts with plenty of festive fun, Christmas music, and a few surprises! Not forgetting Santa Claus, who is very excited to meet you all. Ho Ho Ho!
As darkness falls, our VIP family competition winners will press the plunger and light up the town at approximately 5:45pm, beginning the countdown to Christmas.
The event is FREE, and all are welcome - join us and have yourself a Merry Merthyr Christmas!
Parking is only £1 in the town centre’s pay and display car parks all day on Saturdays throughout the year.
