About this Event

Come along to Meristems, a creative writing evening led by Scottish–Sri Lankan artist Didi Marina Salonia. We’ll ease into the session with music, and use thoughtful writing prompts to explore whatever’s on our minds and hearts. It’s all about making space for feeling things, being honest, and connecting with ourselves (and maybe each other too).
You’ll get your own hand-decorated notebook and pen to write with.
No writing experience needed.
Free to join, all materials provided.
Yummy vegan food will be provided, and the cafe will supply tea (including homemade chai). Please let us know of any dietary requirements.

This is a space for people (18+) identifying as mixed race, bi-racial, multi-racial only, please keep this in mind.

Tickets Details

This workshop is free, but we are charging a £4 booking deposit to reserve your spot. This is to avoid no-shows and food waste. All deposits will be refunded upon attendance at the workshop. If the deposit is a barrier to you attending, please get in touch with us via Instagram (@beingmixedproject), or email ([email protected]), and we can book you on without it!

Venue Accessibility

Kahawa Mzuri Speciality Coffee has step-free access to the venue. Please note that there is a step-free toilet, but it does not meet accessibility requirements, as it is fitted with only one handrail on one side and has limited space to move around (96cm door width, 106cm from the sink to the wall). We are sharing this information in advance of the event so that attendees can make informed decisions based on their access needs.

Access Fund

If you require support to attend this event (e.g. transport, communication requirements, childcare), we can help. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel, please let us know 48 hours before the event, either via our Instagram, email, or WhatsApp. This enables us to ensure other people can attend the event.
