About this Event
For men to walk, talk, and connect with other men.
Why Walking Talking Men?
The physical health consequences of poor or insufficient connection among men include a 29% increased risk of heart disease, a 32% increased risk of stroke, and a 50% increased risk of developing dementia for older adults. Additionally, lacking social connection increases risk of premature death by more than 60%. (U.S. Surgeon General Advisory.)
1 in 5 men said they had gotten emotional support from a friend in the past week, compared with 4 in 10 women. (Survey Center on American Life.)
We’re taking one small step for men to connect with other men.
What?
Walk and talk for one hour, once every-other week, with other men in your community.
Where?
We walk along the Greenbelt in Hermosa Beach. Specifically, we leave from the southeast corner of Valley Drive and Pier Ave.
Who?
Identify as a man? Then this space is for you!
What happens after each walk?
Anything you want. Go for coffee with a new connection. Stay to connect more deeply. Go home. It’s up to you.
Who created Walking Talking Men?
