In Javanese, Mentas signifies renewal and rebirth, like the feeling of emerging from a water purification ceremony.
Abink’s music draws deeply from his Javanese roots and the ancient water temple in his home village of Ngawonggo, East Java.
Together, these influences weave a musical journey of heartfelt melodies, one that invites you to return to yourself and listen with your heart.
The evening will begin with Naomi serving Wedbang; a traditional Javanese herbal concotion of ginger and spices served to warm the body and uplift the spirit. As night falls, we will be carried into an immersive soundscape with Abink's unique and evocative sound. Finally, we'll flow into a Music Jam with fellow musicians to close the evening.
