About this Event
As the year comes to a close, we pause to reflect on the journey that brought us here. This month’s Mentally Poetic session invites you to explore The Art of Reflection—a space to look back on moments of growth, resilience, and creativity.
Through poetry and conversation, we’ll examine the power of self-reflection as a tool for healing, celebrating accomplishments, and embracing lessons learned. Together, let’s uncover how the art of looking inward helps us prepare for the seasons ahead.

Mentally Poetic is a monthly activation that helps support the HBCU Art of Mental Health Tour.
"You may be wondering why we are charging $1.50 for this event! In honor of Dr.Mary McLeod Bethune who started what we now know as Bethune-Cookman University with $1.50. She turned what was viewed as a “wasteland” into a space for young minds to learn and grow. "Enter to Learn..Depart to Serve” this motto was left by Dr.Bethune to her students in her last will and testament. Her legacy and commitment to educating the culture is the driving force behind Ariana Iverson Media and Counsel The Culture Foundation.
A portion of the proceeds will be used to fund the HBCU Art of Mental Health Tour 2025, an initiative to inspire, educate, and empower students and staff through the fusion of poetry and wellness resources, fostering a creative and healthy campus environment. This tour will be making stops at Kentucky State University, Wilberforce University and Southern University at New Orleans in April 2025. April is also National Poetry Month!
