Take the first step toward making a meaningful difference in your workplace or community by becoming a Mental Health First Aider.
About this Event

Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least 1 in 6 employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace such as anxiety and depression. Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best. Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination

This nationally recognised Level 2 Award in Mental Health First Aid will help you gain the skills and confidence to support mental wellbeing in the workplace and everyday life. This one day practical course is designed for anyone who wants to better understand mental health, recognise the signs of mental ill health, and respond in a safe, supportive and effective way.

Whether you’re a manager, team member, HR professional, or simply looking to build your knowledge, this training provides a solid foundation in mental health awareness and first aid.

During the course, you will explore a range of important topics, including:

  • Common mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Factors that can affect mental wellbeing
  • How to recognise early warning signs
  • How to start supportive conversations with confidence
  • The role of a Mental Health First Aider
  • Signposting individuals to appropriate professional support

You’ll learn a simple, practical framework for offering initial help while maintaining boundaries and looking after your own wellbeing. The course is interactive and engaging, using real-life scenarios, group discussions, and activities to help you apply what you’ve learned.

What you’ll gain:

  • Increased awareness and understanding of mental health
  • Confidence to support someone experiencing mental ill health
  • Tools to promote a positive and inclusive environment
  • A nationally recognised Level 2 qualification

Assessment:

A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).

By the end of this course, you’ll be better equipped to make a positive difference, helping to break stigma, support others, and contribute to a healthier, more supportive culture.
