Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches participants about mental health and substance use challenges.
WHO NEEDS TO KNOW MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?
• Employers
• Police officers
• Hospital staff
• First responders
• Caring individuals
The course will teach you how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):
• Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
• Listen nonjudgmentally.
• Give reassurance and information.
• Encourage appropriate professional help.
• Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
Additional details:
Registration will close on July 10th. Registrants will be contacted via email to complete pre-work that is a requirement to attend the course. Pre-work is due one week prior to the training on July 17th.
