About this Event
UK health and safety guidance now emphasises that employers must consider employees’ mental health as part of their workplace first aid needs assessment. Organisations are therefore required to train Mental Health First Aiders to help meet their duty of care and support staff wellbeing.
This one-day course provides an introduction to Mental Health First Aid and helps participants recognise when someone may be experiencing a mental health problem.
You will learn how to spot early warning signs of common conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression, how to listen and respond in a supportive way, and how to guide someone towards appropriate professional help. The course also explores suicide awareness, communication skills, and ways to promote positive mental wellbeing.
Suitable for anyone who wants to increase their understanding of mental health and feel more confident supporting others. No previous experience is required.
