It's Hockey Time in Party Town as we kickoff 2026 when the Madison Capitols visit your Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, January 9th at 6:35 pm!Join us for Mental Health Awareness Night presented by Alive & Running Iowa. We’re joining teams across the hockey world to talk openly about mental health. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. You’re not alone. We will have a limited number of green lapel pins available for fans in support of mental health awareness. Alive & Running Iowa was formed in 2010 and the nonprofit organization is completely volunteer-led and uses all funds to raise awareness of suicide prevention. The organization uses the money to hold free trainings as they feel education is key to preventing suicide. In addition to suicide prevention work, Alive & Running Iowa also hosts two grief support groups in Waverly and Waterloo for those who have experienced a loss due to suicide.
The Black Hawks will also be recognizing former Waterloo star and NHL alum, Joe Pavelski, during the game and the first 1,000 fans into Young Arena will receive a commemorative Joe Pavelski USA Hockey Hall of Fame Mini Banner!
