Mending Matters w/ Practice Studio
A practical and social workshop exploring textile repair and creative mending techniques. Participants may be encouraged to bring garments to repair, adapt or upcycle. this workshop will allow you to develop hands on skills, in a supportive studio environment, focused on sustainability and shared creativity.
Who should attend?
This workshop is open to anyone interested in textile repair, sustainable fashion and slow craft.
What's included?
Guided demonstrations and practical excercises. Participants will learn different approaches to mending and connect with others interested in sustainability.
What should I bring and wear?
Please bring any garments or textiles you'd like to repair or experiment with. All other materials will be provided. A notebook is also recommended for ideas and techniques.
Meet Practice Studio
Based in Brisbane, Practice Studio is a workroom and retail space dedicated to thoughtfully made garments and slow fashion. Showcasing emerging Australian designers. Alongside their curated retail, Practice Studio also operates in store sewing, alterations and repair services. Extending the life of both new and well loved clothing while also educating about the design and making process.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:
Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached - this decision is made between 2-7 days before the workshop date so don't delay in buying your ticket! In the event of the workshop being cancelled by artisan, participants will be refunded in full and as soon as possible.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to two weeks prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within two weeks of the workshop commencing will not be refunded. Refunds are to be processed by the attendee through Humanitix.
Workshop Transfer Policy:
You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement 24 hours prior to the workshop in writing to [email protected].
