Do you have a stash of clothing that’s been languishing and in need of repair? It’s time to grab them and bring it our Mending Happy Hour!
About this Event

Do you have a “wish” pile of clothing? Those perfectly fitting jeans that are too long, your favorite cardigan that has a hole in it, that cute romper that only works after some carefully placed safety pins? Perhaps there are some pieces that would be perfect for spring? It’s time to stop daydreaming about your fantasy outfits and get them into your working wardrobe. Grab your favorite thrift store find and bring it to our Mending Happy Hour where you can stitch in good company!

Meet some new friends who can pin up that hem for you. Get advice from your community on the best way to learn a new skill or borrow some basic tools so you can get your favorite clothes back in rotation, and get it done while sipping bubbly and socializing!

Some machines, needles, fabric scraps, and thread will be available to borrow but if you can, please bring your own scissors, thread, sewing needles, or whatever you will need to work on your project. Informal sewing guidance will be provided by your hosts, expert sewists Jeni Falldine and Sherry Koyama of Harumi K. It's more fun to get your mending done with the right supplies, ideas from others, and a little extra moral support.

Some light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your favorite drink and perhaps more to share - hope to see you there!

Suggested donation $10 - $30 Upon arrival, buzz #28 for entry

Jeni Falldine studied art and textiles at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Tennessee. With over 20 years of experience in sewing clothing, she is especially drawn to the magic of dance costume, upcycling, and immaculate fit.

Sherry Koyama is the founder/designer of women's clothing line Harumi K. She has degrees in Psychology and Studio Art from University of California, Davis and a Patternmaking/Fashion Design Certificate from Apparel Arts in San Francisco. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Dress for Success Seattle and is a member of Impact 100 Seattle.
