About this Event
Memories of the Far Shore (MotFS) is an immersive, ecological, ambient art collaboration between musicians, sound recordists, choreographers, and production light designers.
An experiment in sound, movement, and light, MotFS focuses on variations of sensory experience and composing with consciousness. At the start of every piece is a percept identified by moving bodies and environments--this performance titled "Springtide" is the third iteration of a series inspired by the Baywood Estuary between Los Osos, Morro Bay, and the sand dunes. The songs, together with movement and lighting, engage in an immersive worlding of a journey by boat through the Estuary and back.
This show is the debut of several brand new additions to our performance. These new elements expand our collaboration into crossdisciplinary areas including contemporary dance and immersive art installations. Adding their original choreography are the dance duo: Dana Lossing & Katie Neville. Dana and Katie will be performing a mixture of movement, stillness, contact dancing, and improvisation. Expanding the visual immersion of MotFS is the video artist and production designer Creative Judge, who has built a brand new projection installation specifically tailored to Linnaea's garden where we will be performing.
