Join us this weekend for our annual Memorial Day Encampment. Saturday AND Sunday there will be ranger lead walks and historic small arms and artillery demonstrations at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM!In between ranger programs, come down to the battlefield and interact with all three of the cultures that were involved in the conflict that happened during the skirmish at Jumonville Glen on May 28, 1754! Learn about camp life, food choices, utensils, sleeping arrangements and other fascinating 18th century topics.
This event will take place rain or shine! Check the weather, bring your umbrellas, and wear appropriate attire. If the weather is too much, we may have to postpone or move the weapons demonstrations.
Fort Necessity National Battlefield Visitor Center will be open 9 AM to 5 PM both days and the grounds and trails are open sunrise to sunset. A quick reminder that our sidewalk is still under construction and a temporary walkway is available on the other side of the building.
