Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Lincoln Portrait stand as stirring tributes to democratic ideals and collective courage, while Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture brings dramatic intensity and resolve.
Following intermission, Barber’s Adagio for Strings offers a moment of quiet remembrance, leading into a solemn performance of Taps.
