Memorial Day is just around the corner. Each year on or around Memorial day we do the Hero Workout: "MURPH". Join us Monday May 25th for this workout! You can sign-up for a heat in the Nexus app by going to the 25th and reserving for a spot!We will have two heats to begin and will add another heat if we fill those two. The first heat will kick off at 8:00 AM. The second heat will kick off at 9:00 AM. You will have 50 min to get out the door on your second run. This is in part to help us choose scaling options accordingly. 50 min is a long time to be exercising and we want to encourage you to keep it under that time frame. The clock for the first heat will remain running for 1 hour. At this point the coach will start a clock on their watch for anyone finishing up their final run. Food will start to be served following the first heat around 8:00 AM.
We will be having protein pancakes and fruit!
What is Murph?
Murph is a Hero WOD (Workout Of the Day). Hero WODs are created to honor men and women who have fallen in the line of duty. Murph was named in tribute to the life and service of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy. Lt. Michael Murphy was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005, after leaving cover to make a call and save the lives of his men. This workout was one of his favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". We refer to it as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
