This Memorial Day, May 25th, E60 Fitness will host our 4th Annual Murph Challenge, a special event honoring the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country through one of the most recognized hero workouts in the fitness community. Everyone is welcome to participate, so bring your friends and join us for an incredible day of fitness, community, and remembrance.
Early bird tickets are $10 until May 18th, and $15 thereafter. Registration includes:

Please arrive by 11:45 AM on May 25th for check-in, orientation, and warm-up. The workout will begin promptly at 12:00 PM.
The Murph Challenge can be modified for all fitness levels, making it accessible whether you are a beginner or experienced athlete. A Mini Murph option will also be available upon request.
What is the Murph Workout?
The Murph workout honors Lieutenant Michael Murphy, a United States Navy SEAL who was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan in 2005. Traditionally performed for time, the workout consists of:
• 1-mile run (alternative distances available)
• 100 pull-ups (band-assisted options available)
• 200 push-ups
• 300 squats
• Another 1-mile run
All movements and distances can be scaled based on fitness level and experience.
Who Was LT Michael Murphy?
Lieutenant Michael Murphy grew up in Patchogue, New York, where he earned the nickname “The Protector” for standing up to bullies and defending a special needs student at his school. After graduating from Penn State, he was commissioned as a Navy officer and completed the demanding training required to become a Navy SEAL in 2001.
On June 28, 2005, LT Murphy and fellow SEALs Danny Dietz, Matthew Axelson, and Marcus Luttrell were deployed to the mountains of Kunar Province, Afghanistan. During their mission, their position was compromised, and the team was ambushed by a significantly larger enemy force.
Despite being heavily outnumbered, the team fought courageously. In an extraordinary act of bravery, LT Murphy left cover to reach a clear satellite signal and call for support, fully aware of the danger it posed to his own life. Murphy, Dietz, and Axelson were killed in the battle, along with eight additional SEALs and eight Army Night Stalker service members whose rescue helicopter was shot down while attempting to reach the team.
For his extraordinary courage and selflessness, Lieutenant Michael Murphy was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the United States military’s highest decoration for valor.
