Join us for a joyful, welcoming early-evening live music experience designed especially for young audiences and their families.
My First Gig is all about creating a relaxed, friendly introduction to live music – a chance for children to experience the excitement of a real gig in a safe, inclusive and age-appropriate setting. There’s no pressure to sit still or be silent, and families are encouraged to enjoy the music together.
Headlining the evening is Mali Hâf, one of Wales’ most exciting new voices. A boundary-pushing Celtic pop artist, Mali blends her Welsh heritage with modern electronic sounds, creating music that is bold, imaginative and full of energy. Inspired by artists such as Björk, M.I.A. and Kate Bush, her performances are colourful, expressive and immersive – perfect for curious young listeners as well as adults.
Mali’s powerful, distinctive voice carries emotion beyond language, making her music engaging even for first-time gig-goers. Her shows are known for their warmth, movement and connection with the audience, offering a live experience that is as fun as it is memorable.
Opening the show is MACY, a Cardiff-based pop artist known for her vibrant, feel-good songs and infectious stage presence. With performances at festivals including FOCUS Wales and In It Together, and appearances on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 1, MACY brings high-energy pop that’s upbeat, accessible and perfect for kicking off a family-friendly night of live music.
This special My First Gig event takes place during the Easter holidays and finishes early, making it ideal for children aged 5-12 and their grown-ups. Whether it’s your child’s very first live show or simply a fun night out together, this is a brilliant way to experience original Welsh music as a family.
All ages welcome. This event is recommended for children aged 5-12 and their families.
