About this Event
MCCU cares about helping our members and community in safely disposing of their documents to better protect from identity theft. All documents are shredded securely on site by West Houston Document Destruction.
Join us at this FREE Shred Day and Food Drive event! Bring a non-perishable food item benefitting Katy Christian Ministries to help those in need.
How to Participate:
It's easy to join us. Simply box up your sensitive documents and non-perishable items and bring them to our Katy Freeway location during event hours. We will have helpful MCCU staff on hand to help unload cars so that you can stay inside your vehicle.
Five (5) file size box maximum per vehicle. You do not need to remove paper clip, stapes or rubber bands from any of the items. See the "Prohibited Items" list below for what we are unable to shred.
Event Guidelines and Restrictions:
- Limit of 5 boxes per vehicle
- Paper clips, staple and rubber bands DO NOT need to be removed
- Shredding service is on a first come, first serve basis. Once shred truck has reached capacity, shredding service will end
- For safety purposes, only MCCU staff may dump items into shredding containers
- Members may view shredding process from a distance
- In case of truck malfunction or break down, Shred Day will be canceled
- MCCU reserves the right to cancel Shred Day at any time for any reason without prior notice
- Recycling services are not available at this event

This event is part of our Financial Family Fun Fair a day of financial education, community building, and family-friendly fun! There will be a cash grab machine, prizes, DJ, and kid-friendly activities in addition to a blood drive, shred event, and food drive benefitting Katy Christian Ministries.
