About this Event
Five Oaks Museum is delighted to celebrate our member community and invite you to two special tours on one winter morning. As our current exhibition, Replenish the Root: Six Centuries of Gathering Under the Oaks, enters its last year, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to experience its rich content. This interactive group tour delves deep into the abundance of local Oregon white oak savanna ecosystems, stewarded by Kalapuyan tribes since time immemorial. Agriculture and urbanization have transformed the landscape, but the trees invite us to examine our intersecting histories and connect with the land we share. The in-person tour from Aron, our Visitor Services & Learning Coordinator, gives particular energy and depth to the exhibition experience.
Also join our Codirector, Rachel, for a special collection spaces tour. It offers a rare opportunity to learn about the important work we've done in collection care this year, discuss plans for the future of the collection, and see amazing objects from the history of the Tualatin Valley.
We're excited both to share this work with members who have helped us realize our goals and also to welcome new members who may be supporting this work for the first time. Space is limited, so register soon.
