Produced by Saudha Society of Poetry and Indian Music (www.saudha.org), MELODY OF MIST AND SHADOWS IS a tribute to one of the finest Hindustani classical vocalists that India has produced, Ustad Rashid Khan of Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, being hosted by SAMPAD ARTS. This classical and semi-classical presentation will be led by a senior disciple of Ustad Rashid Khan, one of the finest Indian classical vocalists of this time in India Srimati Koyel Bhattacharya, as well as a senior disciple of Pt Subhankar Banerjee, a very talented Tabla player Sri Kuntal Das on Tabla as well as Ustad Johar Ali Khan, the son and disciple of Ustad Gohar Ali Khan, grandson of Ustad Ali Baksh, the founder of Patiala Gharana on Harmonium.
This tribute has been scripted and directed by T M Ahmed Kaysher.
This is a double bill event and the the Act 1 will present a solo violin recital by virtuosic Johar Ali Khan, visiting the country as the new Chair of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Johar Ali has performed thousands of music concerts all over the world including All India Radio and Doordashan.
