“Melodies of Gallipoli – From the Frontline to Friendship” Australian Turkish Melodies of Peace, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening cultural ties through music and performing arts inspired by Türkiye and Australia, is preparing to host a special concert titled “Melodies of Gallipoli – From the Frontline to Friendship” on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Melbourne Recital Centre’s Elizabeth Murdoch Hall as part of the Gallipoli Campaign commemorations.
In this unique event, prominent artists from Türkiye’s leading conservatories and TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) will take the stage alongside a distinguished orchestra of Australian musicians. The performance will feature works inspired by the Gallipoli Campaign, blending Western and Eastern musical traditions. The text for this meaningful concert is written by Professor İskender Pala, and the arrangements and conducting are led by İskender Ozan Toprak, a musician residing in Australia.
This event invites young Australians, especially those of Turkish descent, to explore the spirit of courage and sacrifice passed down from their ancestors to future generations on the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign. The stories of both those who served in the war and those who waited at home will be brought to life through music.
The project aims to reconnect future generations with the ANZAC legacy, offering an educational and inspiring experience that will leave a lasting impact, expanding their musical understanding and cultural appreciation.
For the first time in the history of Gallipoli Campaign commemorations, this concert will bring together all sides in such a comprehensive and inclusive manner. The event is presented under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, which oversees and organises all arrangements regarding the participation of Turkish artists, with sponsorship from Turkish Airlines and ATMP’s supporters.
