Wisconsin native Melissa Faliveno, author of the essay collection Tomboy, an NPR, Oprah Magazine, and New York Public Library best book of 2020, appears at Boswell for an evening featuring her first novel, Hemlock, a queer Gothic tale set in the Wisconsin Northwoods. Great for fans of Han Kang’s The Vegetarian and readers looking for the butch version of Black Swan.

Melissa Faliveno is author of Tomboyland and the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Literary Achievement from the Wisconsin Library Association. Her writing has appeared in Esquire, Paris Review, and Kenyon Review, and in the anthologies Sex and the Single Woman and Hit Repeat Until I Hate Music.
