Melanie C may be making her long-awaited comeback this spring, but it's a new record from Melanie B that's causing the most excitement in Reflex HQ...No, not that one!
If you're a local gig-goer, you may well have borne witness to the rise of Cumbria-born, Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Melanie Baker, who's made waves over recent years with stirring songs packed with startling honesty, absurdist humour and deep vulnerability.
Now, this superb emerging artist is preparing to unveil her debut album Somebody Help Me, I'm Being Spontaneous! - and we're thrilled to announce she'll be launching the record with a special release day instore at Reflex, on Friday 10th April.
From 5PM, Melanie will be treating us to an exclusive stripped-back performance, followed by a meet 'n' greet and signing session.
If you'd like to come along, simply pre-order the album from Reflex on either format to secure your entry wristband.
We've had an early listen, and can safely say you're unlikely to find many stronger debuts all year. If raw, unflinchingly honest songwriting, delivered through a queer lens and with a '90s flavoured alt-rock crunch sounds up your street, this is most definitely an event for you!
Come along and show your support for one of the North East's standout rising stars!
FORMATS:
Red marble LP - £23.99
CD - £11.99
