About this Event
Join us to celebrate the launch of ‘Family Album’, an exhibition of works by Melbourne based artist Dinusha Joseph.
Dinusha's new collection of works form a narrative based on family history and travels back to her homeland in Sri Lanka. Inspired by old family photos of places and people dating back multiple generations, as well as travel snaps from a family holiday, the forms and colours include references to urban scenes such as markets, through to hill country, seascapes and historical cities. They aim to evoke an atmosphere linked to place, time and memory, combined with imagination.
Introduced to Megan Park by a mutual friend a few years ago join us to hear about how a recent serendipitous meeting discovered an alignment between their works and aesthetic that was meant to be. Drawing on travel inspired memories and historical references, both fashion and art connect with an natural synergy, almost as if the two were working together right from the start.
