[EN] As part of the “Meetings Without Translation” series, a presentation and discussion with journalist Gesine Dornblüth will take place under the title “The Fight for Freedom: Georgia and the Long Arm of the Kremlin”. Sveta Müller will moderate the conversation. The event will be held in Russian.

Georgia is Putin’s next target. Across the world, Russia threatens and destroys democracy and freedom by supporting populist and criminal groups, undermining media, and manipulating history. Nowhere has this been more effective than in Georgia. Steering the country away from its European path and reintegrating it into Russia’s sphere of influence is one of the Kremlin’s key objectives.

Gesine Dornblüth and Thomas Franke have been traveling through Georgia for decades, reporting on its people and political realities. Georgia becomes a magnifying glass, revealing what can seriously endanger even well-established democracies. A country that has fought for freedom for centuries is once again fearing for its independence. The struggle for freedom is in full swing.
