If there is anything I learnt throughout the years in music industry, it takes a village to grow a community or a scene. I wish I had the privilege to enjoy the process of a slow and steady growth. As state repression been back again with unseen cruelty for the past decade in the Uyghur region, Uyghur music doesn't have the privilege to sit in silent no more. I am not saying it's dying even though it is being killed, believe me it's very much alive, instead, it needs to make noises and take up spaces. At the same time, as someone who's been living out of the land for decades, I wanna not only showcase what is Uyghur music, but also what a Uyghur in the diaspora listen?
