Meeting BaldwinThis interactive performance explores the life and work of James Baldwin (1924–1987), focusing on the personal resonance his writing holds for the performer-puppeteer. Through a life-sized puppet version of Baldwin, staged in conversation with the puppeteer, the piece creates a dialogue between artist and subject. As Baldwin and characters from his novels come to life as puppets, they mirror and give voice and reason to multicultural queer life today.
