About this Event

We’re holding two free in-person events in Glasgow for registrants to meet us, find out how we can support you with your registration, fitness to practise processes, learning and development. It’s also an opportunity for us to hear first hand from you how we can meet your needs.

You’ll be able to come to our workshops and have time to meet SSSC staff at our marketplace to ask questions, get support and find out more about our learning and other resources.

Who should attend?

This event is primarily aimed at SSSC registrants; however, managers and employers who don’t register with us may also be interested in attending.

Workshops

You can attend two workshop sessions. Please indicate your preference of workshops from 1 to 4, we’ll do our best to accommodate your choices. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come basis.
Workshop 1: Maintaining your SSSC registration made simple

This session will you understand how to maintain your SSSC registration. We’ll cover:

  • updating your details and employment information using MySSSC
  • uploading qualification evidence and meeting registration conditions
  • completing your Annual Declaration on time.


We’ll also highlight recent changes to the Register and successes from the Future Proofing Programme. Please note: this session does not cover CPL.
Workshop 2: Supporting your continuous professional learning (CPL)

This session will explain CPL requirements and help you understand what learning you can do to achieve it. You will be introduced to some of our digital learning resources and learning badges.
Workshop 3: Fitness to Practise – how we can support you if you are involved in an investigation

This session will help registrants understand what support we provide to people involved in a fitness to practice investigation, whether as the person under investigation or as a witness.
Workshop 4: Preparing for SVQs – learn more about SVQs, what to expect and how you can be supported

This session is aimed at workers who are registered with a condition to gain a qualification. It will provide information on what an SVQ is, how workers can gather evidence to achieve an SVQ and what support training providers can give to learners.
