About this Event
Discover the story behind one of Manchester’s most inspirational community growing movements, creating a fairer and more sustainable food system for us all. In this session the Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD CIC) will share how they got started, the impact they've had so far and what they've learned along the way. Whether you're dreaming of starting a small veg patch, or launching your own community garden, the MUD team will offer practical tips and inspiration to help you get growing.
Who’s it for?
Community organisers, neighbourhood volunteers and anyone curious about growing food, building green spaces, or kickstarting their own local projects - big or small.
**This event is free to attend but please consider making a donation to support MUD's work: **
Human Natures exhibition
Manchester Urban Diggers are one the community partners featured in the Human Natures exhibition running until 1 November 2026. Human Natures explores stories of overconsumption and overexploitation of the animals, plants and landscapes on which we depend and the consequences this has for climate, biodiversity and people. It also shares inspiring examples of individuals and organisations taking action to live in balance with nature. Find out more about the exhibition and book free tickets here
