Ever wonder what it was like to help build and operate the satellites that shaped Cold War intelligence? On May 15–16, visitors to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force can meet the people who did exactly that.
Experts from the Secretary of the Air Force Special Projects (SAFSP) program — including engineers, operators and recovery crew members — will be at the Museum sharing firsthand stories about the HEXAGON and GAMBIT satellite programs.
From monitoring millions of square miles of territory to capturing film return capsules midair using aircraft like the C-119, these missions represent a remarkable chapter in aerospace history.
