Join us for an intimate afternoon with Yuri Elperin, the artist behind Cycles of Being, to explore the stories, inspirations, and philosophies that shape his powerful mixed media and sculptural works.
Born in Riga, Latvia, and now based in Vancouver, Elperin’s art bridges East and West—merging Western abstract expressionism with the meditative sensibilities of Eastern philosophy. His “sculpture/paintings” such as Reincarnation Begins, Wu Zetian Dream, and Something is Nothing and Nothing is Something reveal a lifelong inquiry into existence, spirituality, and cultural memory.
At this special event, Elperin will discuss his creative journey—from his early years navigating Soviet-era artistic restrictions to his discovery of artistic freedom in the West. Guests will gain insight into his collaboration with calligrapher Li Ning, whose classical Chinese script appears throughout the exhibition, symbolizing the meeting of traditions and philosophies across time and culture.
This is a rare opportunity to meet the artist in person, hear his reflections on art and spirituality, and experience Cycles of Being through his own words.
