After an offshore accident on an oil rig claimed the life of his father, Gregory Ricks watched as his family coped with grief. As with so many sudden tragedies involving the loss of a loved one, financial decisions also impacted the situation.
Gregory recognized that guidance from a financial professional could have allowed his mother to avoid some pitfalls that eventually affected her financial future. In response, Gregory solidified his decision to begin a career in the financial services industry. He remains motivated to help others resolve financial complexities and plan for retirement as the Founder, CEO & Wealth Advisor of Gregory Ricks & Associates, Inc.
In his book Retirement Deserves a Helpful Hand, Gregory traces his roots as a financial professional. He explains how his interactions helping neighbors contributed to The Guided Planning System®. Gregory explains this planning process, which addresses five distinctive initiatives:
Income Planning
Investment Planning
Tax Planning
Health Care Planning
Estate & Legacy Planning
By creating comprehensive strategies that touch on these concepts, Gregory attempts to resolve questions about retirement that people sometimes seem reluctant to ask. His book extends a “helpful hand” by outlining noteworthy retirement considerations.
Gregory Ricks has lived in the New Orleans area for thirty-plus years and values time with his wife, Stacey. They have four children – the oldest, David, and triplets Luke, Lance, and Emily. Gregory helps address financial concerns for retirees live on the radio as the host of “Winning at Life® with Gregory Ricks” and on the “Ask Gregory Podcast”. Tune-in on the Winning at Life® app or iHeart Radio from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday.
