About this Event
Please join us for an afternoon of art and community on Saturday, November 15th from 1-3PM as we celebrate the work of William Holmes, the Littleton Co-op's November/December featured Cafe Gallery Artist. The artist will be on site to share more information about his work and process and answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided and the artwork will be for sale. Come for the whole afternoon or stop by for as long as you can!
A statement from the artist:
I am a retired optometrist from Littleton, NH, and I have always had an interest in photography. Since retiring, I have had the opportunity to delve more deeply into the art of photography. My primary interest is in landscapes here in the White Mountains and elsewhere. I really enjoy hiking out to local waterfalls. I also like to photograph other genres (macro, astrophotography, flowers, and wildlife). I edit my photos to be sharp and clear, but to retain the natural look of the scene. I avoid creating anything that has an artificial look to it.
I use Canon and Sony cameras, including compact, crop sensor and full frame cameras, as well as an S24 Ultra phone. I print my own photos using a Canon Pro-100 printer and Canon ChromaLife 100+ dye inks on archival paper. I prefer printed photos versus digital images – I like to have them in my hand or hanging on the wall rather than on a computer! I make a photo calendar each year for friends and family, and sell a few as well.
I joined a local photo club about 7 years ago. The Notch Above Photo Club meets on the second Saturday of the month at the Bethlehem Library from 1:00 to 3:00. We discuss photo ideas, camera techniques, and photo editing. We have a friendly photo contest each month, along with presentations on a variety of subjects. All levels of photographers are welcome!
