About This Session
This session is Module 2 of a three-part Anesthesia Academy series, designed to be taken in order to build a comprehensive understanding of safe and effective anesthesia practices.
Safe anesthesia begins with a deep understanding of the equipment you rely on every day. In this module, we’ll take you beyond button-pushing to explore the essential systems that keep your patients safe and procedures running smoothly.
will review the components and functions of anesthesia machines, delivery circuits, and ventilators. Through practical tips, demonstrations, and case-based discussions, participants will gain confidence in optimizing their setup and troubleshooting in real time.
You’ll learn how to:
- Identify the key parts of the anesthesia machine and understand their functions.
- Perform and interpret leak tests effectively to ensure safety.
- Compare delivery circuits by type, selection criteria, advantages, and disadvantages.
- Evaluate ventilator types, understand how to use them correctly, and recognize their benefits and limitations.
