Workshop Description:
This workshop with Katie Beene, E-RYT 500, and Ryan Devin, E-RYT 500, prepares yoga teachers to lead seminars and classes on meditation to mainstream and experienced students.
Special attention is given to the 8 limbs of Yoga focusing on pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.
Learn and experience:
-Mindfulness meditation and walking meditation
-Leading Chakra meditations
-Zen meditation, history and tradition
-Yoga Nidra Intro, science, sensation, and benefits
-Japa, Mantra, joyful meditation
-Metta, loving kindness meditation
Explore the psychology of meditation and how to deliver this information to a mainstream group of students, plus, participate in an introductory class for the public.
About your teachers:
Katie Beene, E-RYT 500, Co-Owner of Lotus Pond, Yoga Teacher, and 200/300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Director
Katie teaches her asana classes at a slow and mindful pace, weaving in philosophy and heartfelt contemplations to inspire emotional and spiritual growth. She weaves her own life experience into her teachings, sharing relatable stories and lessons that she has learned along her yoga journey. When Katie isn't teaching, she enjoys playing the piano, dancing, spending time in nature, or reading/writing. Katie believes that yoga is fully lived both on and off the mat, and hopes to inspire others to take their yoga practice everywhere they go.
Ryan Devin is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) who has extensive training in alignment-based yoga, acrobatic yoga, pranayama (yogic breathing), and meditation. With over 2500 hours of experience in teaching, he is a passionate and enthusiastic person who helps his students develop self-awareness and healthier lifestyles through a loving and patient approach.
