🎤 Introduction by Tame Iti
🍰 Homemade kai and alcohol-free refreshments
This is a relaxed, welcoming, alcohol-free community event.

Why This Matters
Māori make up around 52% of people in Aotearoa prisons, yet Māori-led delivery of meditation and wellbeing practices in these spaces remains limited.
This kaupapa supports a culturally grounded approach to wellbeing — led by lived experience, whakapapa, and community connection — in places where calm, clarity, and resilience are needed most.

About Wairere
Wairere is completing the final stage of training in a simple, evidence-informed meditation practice currently used internationally and within Aotearoa. Completing this training will allow her to bring the practice home and offer it in ways that align with tikanga, whakapapa, and Māori worldviews, including in prisons, communities, and whānau spaces.
The practice is accessible and practical, and can be learned over a short period of time.
