THE POWER OF PRESENCEMeditation and Mindfulness YTT Training
with Kelsey Erin and Verna McKinnon
April 24 + 25, 2025, Saturday & Sunday, 8am-5pm
This transformative 20 hour meditation training offers a comprehensive exploration into the history, tradition, and practice of meditation and yogic living. This in-depth training provides participants with tools to reduce stress, enhance focus, and cultivate calm, as we endeavor to truly feel the power of our presence. This weekend will be a thorough study of yoga’s rich philosophy, with an immersion into meditative techniques utilized to more deeply understand and connect with ourselves and the world around us.
SUTRA 1.2
yogaścittavṛttinirodhaḥ
योगश्चित्तवृत्तिनिरोधः ॥२॥
In Sutra 1.2, Patanjali gives us a definition of yoga. Yoga occurs when vritti (the movement of the mind) are controlled by nirodhah (mastery) to achieve yoga (union and balance) of chitta (the mind).
The remaining 194 Sutras outline the path to achieve this, which we will focus on in this module.
In this training you will:
✨ Learn foundations of this ancient tradition and the purpose of meditation.
✨ Develop habits that foster greater discipline and a sense of purpose in life.
✨ Learn about the Eightfold path of the Yoga-Sutras, which guides practitioners toward self-realization and liberation by mastering the mind.
✨ Deepen understanding of universal human challenges by exploring the concept of the Kleshas.
✨ Learning about the nervous system and how stress, relaxation, and movement impact the body, enabling more effective yoga and meditation practices. This knowledge empowers individuals to support their well-being by creating balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.
✨ Cultivate skills to advance your personal practice, as well as guidance in how to lead individual and group meditation practice.
This training is open to students with a desire to deepen their personal practice, as well as those working towards becoming a yoga teacher and current yoga teachers wishing to advance their training.
This training counts as 20 hours of Yoga Alliance CEU’s
✨ YTT200- this is an elective module, counting for 20/200hrs required to certify
✨ Advanced 300hr YTT- this is a required module for the Ekatra’s 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.
