Since the dawn of time, humans have gathered in circle—drumming, singing, praying. It’s more than tradition—it’s remembrance. It’s in our blood. It’s in our bones. It’s who we are.
Each of us carries a drum in our chest: our heartbeat.
In the womb, we were cradled by our mother’s pulse.
The drum reconnects us to the heartbeat of the Earth Herself.
When we drum together, our hearts synchronize.
When we sing together, our spirits dance and remember the ancient language of connection.
🎶 The Songs We Carry
This is a circle of soul—not performance.
I hold a warm, playful, yet sacred space to share the songs that have found me over the years—songs of blessing and remembrance from around the world. From the jungles of the Amazon to the mountains of Zimbabwe, from Lakota prayer songs to Sanskrit mantras, these melodies are ancient threads that weave us back into wholeness.
They honor the Earth, the Cosmos, our plant and animal kin, and our own radiant spirits.
And these songs come alive when we sing them together

This circle isn’t about being “good” at singing or drumming. It’s about feeling, freeing, and remembering. It’s about the joy of expression, the beauty of togetherness, and the deep nourishment of being seen, heard, and felt.
The result is an immense felt sense of belonging, feeling grounded and nourished.
So let us come together, unite our voices, and have fun!

This located East of the Spanish Banks East Volleyball Courts
The nearest intersection is Tolmie and NW Marine Drive. There is a section of the beach that has a little meadow/tree section. We will be nestled in there. If you have trouble finding the location, shoot me a text: 778 580 8148
* If it rains, I will email you on the day with my home address which is just a few blocks away.
ARRIVAL:
6:45-7pm - Arrival, get set up. mingle.
7pm - We sing till the sun comes down!
🌀 What to Bring:
I have extra hoop drums and rattles so everyone gets a chance to play the drum. If you have your own drum, please bring it with you!
- A cozy layer (evening chill has a sneaky way of showing up!)
- A lawn/camping chair/beach blanket to sit on
- An open heart and a willingness to connect
- Water bottle
- Bring a Friend!
Please note: This is not a djembe-style drum circle. This is a medicine drum circle—hoop/frame drums, rattles, and soft-hearted rhythm. With that made clear, all drums are welcome. All voices are welcome. All of you is welcome.
Weather Permitting: In case it rains, we will be indoors. My place is just a few blocks away from Locarno Beach

Akaiyah is a recording artist, certified sound healer, and plant medicine guide with over a decade of experience facilitating trauma-informed sound journeys and plant medicine ceremonies. Her work bridges science, spirituality, and the art of embodied voice.
Akaiyah is currently recording her debut album of channeled medicine songs, including the beloved , & Mi Alma— songs inspired by Earth, animal spirits, elemental energies, and the healing intelligence of sound.
Through her Vocal Activation workshops, she teaches others how to awaken their authentic voice as a tool for healing and self-expression.
