About this Event
Understanding Medicaid & the Probate Process in Nevada
Navigating probate when Medicaid benefits are involved can raise a lot of questions—for families, fiduciaries, and professionals alike. Join us for an informative lunchtime presentation focused on how Nevada Medicaid recovery works, what happens during probate, and what to expect when an estate includes a Medicaid recipient.
This program features speakers from the Nevada Attorney General’s Office who work directly with the Medicaid Recoveries Program and will provide practical insight into how claims are evaluated, handled, and resolved in Nevada estates.
Speakers include:
- Sabrina Grindle Raetz, Esq., Senior Deputy Attorney General, with more than 26 years at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office and over 23 years representing Nevada Medicaid and the Recoveries Program.
- Vanessa Guttke, Management Analyst II, with the Medicaid Recoveries Unit since December 2024.
- LeShawn Parra, Management Analyst I, with the Recoveries Unit since 2020, available to help answer questions regarding the day-to-day operations of Medicaid recoveries.
Whether you are an attorney, fiduciary, advisor, or someone who wants a clearer understanding of how Medicaid interacts with probate in Nevada, this session will help demystify the process and clarify common misconceptions.
