Wellness Worksop: Media use and access for youth: Navigating the good, bad, and ugly sides of internet, social media, and gaming.
This event is FREE. There is no fee for continuing education hours and this workshop will offer 3.0 hours (see below for more details).
Behavioral Health: Cook Children’s Health Care System certifies that this meets the requirements for continuing education by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
Social Work/LPC/LMFT: This activity provides 3.0 clock hours.
Psychology: This activity provides 3.0 professional development hours
By attending this workshop, learners will:
1) Describe current trends for children’s use of apps, games, social media, and/or internet use
2) Explain 1-2 research based guidelines for internet safety
3) Identify 1-2 strategies to provide limits and/or support around developmentally appropriate media exposure
4) Identify 1-2 risks associated to children having early pornography exposure
5) Describe signs and symptoms of adolescent pornography addiction
